Best Weight Training Exercises For The Skinny
March 07, 2007
Welcome to the March edition of The Get Big Ezine from The Build Muscle and Gain Weight Fast Guide.

Just the 2nd ezine of ’07. So much for that bright idea I had of upping the schedule of ezines, eh? I just never seem to find the time. But maybe I’ll get it sorted out sometime. I still have that goal.

This month, we’ll take a look at the top mass gain exercises as presented by Vince Delmonte, the site's newest 5-star contributor. I really like his No-Nonsense Muscle Building program (see the review) as a great option for those looking to put on some serious weight.

In This Issue...

1. New Stuff at The Site
2. Program Updates
3. Bodybuilding Tip of The Month - "The Best Skinny Guy Weight Training Exercises"
4. Final Thoughts

Site New Stuff

• From Anthony Ellis, a new article on how to make sure your 2007 weight gain resolutions become a reality. Anthony gives you 5 solid ways to both increase your ability to build muscle and better your health. One of the things Anthony puts on this list is reducing your stress. If you can just relax, you can improve your results. • From Vince Delmonte, 2 new articles. First a 2-part article that guides you to getting your program set on quick gains.

I like this question Vince asks -

"Do you truly think that you can casually or unintentionally build muscle and gain weight quickly?"
If you think you can and this is your mindset, be prepared to be continuously frustrated. But, if you instead make a concentrated effort to achieve your goals, be prepared to achieve some big things.

In my experience, when you talk to those who are frustrated that they aren't gaining and convinced that they simply can't gain, you find out that they aren't really doing anything to move towards their goals. They aren't even doing the things they know they should be doing.

It won't happen if you just think about it, it won't happen by accident - You have to intentionally and intensely move to make it happen.

And then in the next article, Vince gives you some tips to make sure your workout is geared towards maximum mass gain.

New Weight Gain Tips from Aaron D. over in Great Britain. He's experienced some big gains by sticking to the compounds and eating big.

(hmmm, sounds familiar - I wonder if it's just a coincidence that so many who get the eye-popping growth always seem to be focused on doing these basic things? Could there possibly be something to that? Could that be better than, say, spending your entire paycheck on supplements and trying to hit every single muscle with it's own special exercise every single day?)

He's also going to tell you to train like you "mean it." Great contribution from Aaron.

Program Updates

Price Decreases - Yep, you heard correctly, prices went down on a couple of 5-star programs. Yea.

  • Anthony Ellis's Gaining Mass is now at $77. Anthony is now offering an ebook option which is the reason for the decrease. You can still get the hardcopy for an additional price.

  • Jeff Anderson's Optimum Anabolics is back down to $68 after a brief stay at $97. I liked it okay at $97 but much better at $68.
Now, before you get the idea that price lowering is a trend across the muscle building program market, both Nalewanyj's Truth About Building Muscle and Delmonte's No-Nonsense Muscle Building are planning to add multiple features to their products this month. And with those features, you can bet price increases are likely.

4 new program reviews are up

One was excellent...

  • Review of Vince Delmonte's No-Nonsense Muscle Building - Vince does a great job of putting together a solid weight gain program. It is a little different in that Vince comes from a competitive fitness model background. Its sort of a fitness program that has been re-engineered to produce big muscle gains - highly recommended stuff.
One was okay... And two were horrible...

Bodybuilding Tips

This month I'm turning the reigns directly over to Vince Delmonte for his quick take on the best mass gain exercises...

Skinny guy's must meet a different set of requirements when choosing the most effective weight training exercises for maximal muscle growth. You do what to transform your skinny body into a rock-hard muscular body, right?

Without further ado, here are the top two exercises for each muscle group I used to gain 41 pounds of muscle mass in under six months:

Chest: Bench Press and Flat DB Chest Press

Back: Bent Over Barbell Rows and Close Grip Chin Ups

Shoulders: Seated DB Shoulder Press and Standing Military Press

Triceps: Dips and Tricep Pressdowns

Biceps: Standing Barbell Curls and Incline Bicep Curls

Quads: Squats and Lunges

Hips: Deadlifts and Stiff Leg Deadlifts

Lower Back: Good Morning

Calves: Standing Calve Raises

Abdominals: Weighted Ball Situps and Weighted Cable Crunches

Yes, there are many more exercises I did not list but these are simply the best. Stick to these weight training exercises for the best possible muscular and strength gains and you will have a rock-hard muscular body in less time than before!

Check out Vince's No-Nonsense Muscle Building for the complete plan that got him those 41 pounds of muscle.

Final Thoughts

The theme of this issue was sticking to the basic exercises if you want to put on significant muscle. You heard Aaron D. tell you that and you heard Vince Delmonte. You'll also hear anyone worth listening to tell you the exact same thing.

Focus on those compound exercises, your intensity and, of course, continuously supplying your body with the raw materials it needs to grow through your diet and by the next time you get a Get Big issue out of me, you will have gotten BIG.
