A Brief Explanation of RSS
RSS (Really Simple Syndication) is a relatively new way to keep up to date with your favorite sites. Instead of going to the site to check for updates, you simply add the site's RSS feed to your RSS reader (aggregator).
When an update is made, your reader will show a content summary of that update along with a link. If the new content interests you, simply click through to it. You choose which sites and news feeds show on your reader.
The great thing about RSS is that it keeps you in the know with only the stuff you ask for. No spam worries. And if you ever want to stop receiving a site's feed? All you need to do is click it away on your reader - no sending cancellation emails (the site never has to have your email address) or any such thing, just the click of your mouse.
Now, obviously, that particular click will never need to be made with your Build Muscle and Gain Weight Fast Guide feed (right?) but it is nice to know it's an option for all those other sites.
Once you start using RSS, you will likely become a big fan.
Getting Set Up
You will need an RSS reader. There are many available free (try Feedreader.com) and also some with more features that come with a price tag.
You can also create your own pages at the major search engines (as well as an increasing number of other places) and receive your feeds there. Those are available free, you just need to create an account with a login and password.
Adding Feeds
As you surf the web you will notice more and more sites having little orange buttons on them. They will say either RSS or XML (eXtensible Markup Language) on them like the following...
Click on those buttons and you will go to strange looking pages that are full of code. Pay no attention to the pages or the code, all you are after is the url that appears in your browser's address box. For this site it is:
http://www.gain-weight-muscle-fast.com/
support-files/muscle-guide.xml
Copy this address, click "add new feed" or "get new feed" in your reader and then paste the url in the box that pops up.
And then...you are done. It is that simple (hence the name Really Simple Syndication).
If you use a My Yahoo, My MSN or a Google homepage, it can be even simpler. Just click the corresponding link to add The Build Muscle and Gain Weight Fast Guide's feed to your page. It does the copy and paste job for you.
Now you are all set. All that energy you once expended for clicking around the web looking for new and exciting stuff can now be used for building muscle. Yet another invaluable bodybuilding tip from the Guide.
